The students in the architecture department at the EPFL use Rhino extensively.  Rhino and its associated plug-ins enter into many aspects of their projects, whether it be a simple building design, a complex form generated with Grasshopper, a terrain model made with RhinoTerrain or a scene rendered in V-Ray.  The model shop also uses Rhino to import and prepare data to run their laser cutter and RhinoCAM to run their 3 and 5 axis CNC mills.
